Anxiety - Can cannabis Sativa Help?
Can
you tell the difference between cannabis sativa and cannabis indica? Well, to
be honest most people can't. Both plants look similar, have a similar
appearance and smell, and are used for different reasons. Here are a few
differences between the two:
- Cannabidiol or THC is
the main component in cannabis sativa. However, it is actually the most
abundant component of the plant, and the compound has many different strains
and species. The two main strains contain only THC. It is also the medical name
for the plant, which is also called hemp, after the substance it contains is
derived from the seeds.
-
Cannabidiol is the major ingredient in cannabis sativa, which has a unique,
sweet taste. This is because the plant is fed to children as part of their
diet, in order to prevent them from becoming hemp abusers. However, it also
contains a variety of other beneficial chemicals which make it very effective
as a medical plant.
-
Cannabidiol is the active ingredient found in cannabis sativa, which has a very
strong psychoactive effect. The effects include being more alert, more
creative, more motivated, and having a sense of optimism. Two of its primary
active ingredients, THC and CBD, act on the brain much like THC does. But, they
also contain another group of chemicals called terpenes, which are similar to
the fragrances found in Rosemary and lavender. Terpenes work by binding with
receptors located in the brain, and this allows the brain to produce a
sensation of "high".
-
When you consider the therapeutic benefits of cannabis sativa, you may think
that it only works well as a short-term solution for anxiety, and this is borne
out by the fact that it is highly effective at relieving the symptoms ofanxiety in the short term. However, it is becoming increasingly apparent that
it is also a good anti-depressant. In fact, it is one of the better ones
available. One study showed that children given cannabis sativa during the
afternoon had an increase in school performance compared to those given
placebo. But it isn't just about the school performance either; other studies
have shown that it can help to reduce daytime sleepiness and relieve daytime
stress.
When
used for medicinal purposes, it is often taken in capsules, or as tinctures (liquid)
or tea, as a remedy for nausea and vomiting and as a muscle relaxant. There is
a relatively new use for cannabis sativa in the form of a dietary supplement.
It is believed that the plants contain a fatty substance which, when combined
with other nutrients, acts as a natural appetite suppressant. This makes it a
particularly attractive solution for people trying to lose weight as it can
help to reduce their urge to eat. While the precise mechanism by which it
achieves this is not yet understood, the effect is believed to be similar to
that of some of the better known appetite suppressants such as Hoodia and
Fen-Phen.
One
of the main reasons why it is considered to be a valid treatment for both
chronic and recurring forms of anxiety is that the active ingredient, THC or
tetrahydrocannabinol, is found in all herbal medicines, including cannabis
sativa. The research into this plant has found that it contains two main but
very different compounds; these are called THC and THCA. The THC is the
principal chemical in cannabis sativa, while the other substance is THCA. These
two chemicals act in much the same way in the brain, and when they are present
in the body, this provides them with the neurochemical basis for anxiety.
The
second major finding relating to cannabis sativa and anxiety is that the two
plants are combined in a particular way in Southeast Asia. This is known to be
a common method of cultivation, where two plants are grown together in almost
parallel to one another and then harvested at exactly the same time. This
ensures that their phytochemicals have an opportunity to accumulate and
concentrate fully on their respective tasks. The result is a potent combination
of powerful phytochemicals that work in concert to support good health.
